Yew tree behind "Banya Bashi"

In the past, yew wood was preferred for making the English longbow, which served in England’s battles from the Middle ages to the Hundred Years’ War. The yew lives up to more than 2 000 years and its slow growth provides this strength and density of the wood, through the extremely narrow annual rings that are created. Naturally distributed individuals are protected by the law and included in the Red Book of Bulgaria.
